Walking through the streets of Barcelona you’ll see Gaudí’s work everywhere. Buildings designed or inspired by him is not rare in this amazing city.

Gaudí is one of the greatest architects of the world. He was born in 1852 and the best known practitioner of Catalan Modernism. He has made the drawings for some of the most famous buildings in Barcelona. A few of his masterpieces are Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Milá and Casa Battló.

Barcelona is a city that has it all. There are mountains, beaches, parks, a habor, it’s a big city, and there is history. But Gaudí is what makes the city truly special from other big cities.

When you think of Barcelona you might think of Sagrada Família as one of the must sees in the city. The construction of Sagrada Família started in 1882, but 44 years later, when Gaudí died at the age of 73 years, less than a quarter of the project was complete.

For many years the construction has been standing still. In the 1950’s they decided to continue the project and today Sagrada Família is still under construction and is expected to be complete in the year of 2026.

So when you’re visiting this great work project it will still be under construction with machinery everywhere.

Sagrada Família is the most well known and greatest project that Gaudí worked with. However, within the 73 years of his life he still had many other projects going on.
