Within the past years, Dubai has exploded with tourism and attractions. They have the world’s tallest building and the world’s largest shopping mall. For a city that discovered oil in the 1950’s and 1960’s, they have had a rapid growth of tall buildings and is today considered a luxury travel destination with 7-star hotels and expensive cars.
I’ve visited Dubai a few times and have gathered a list of the top attractions that you should experience when visiting Dubai!
This is the largest building of the world. The building has a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and it is possible to visit the ‘top’, although you only get to take the lift up 452 meters. From the top, you can see all of Dubai including the famous Burj Al Arab 7-star luxury hotel.
Remember to buy tickets in advance, as the queue at the ticket office can be quite long.
This mall is the largest mall in Dubai and located at the same spot as Burj Khalifa. In Dubai Mall, you can see the fountain show just next to the mall or enjoy one of their 1,200 stores.
The Palm and Atlantis
Atlantis is a huge 5-star hotel located at the end of The Palm in Dubai. They have their own water park which can be accessed even if you’re not a guest. Other than that they have a nice terrasse, where you can smoke shisha and have some lunch and a drink.
It is not possible to actually visit the palms of The Palm as it is mainly private residents in this area.
In Mall of Emirates they have two slopes, which are super fun to try. You can rent all gear including the ski wear. If you’re lucky you will get to see one of their penguin shows as well.
Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Here you can choose to just enjoy all the animals from the ocean, or if you dare, you can even dive with sharks.
IMG Worlds of Adventure
If you are ready for some real adventure, IMG Worlds of Adventure is where you should go. This amusement park has lots of fun rides.
Wild Wadi Waterpark
It can be quite hot in Dubai – especially in the summer. A trip to Wild Wadi Waterpark is probably what you need and is located just next to the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab.
They say that this is the friendliest area of Dubai. It is called a ‘hub for watersports and good vibes’, which is exactly what you’ll feel here.
Afternoon Tea at Burj Al Arab
If you’re up for visiting the luxury 7-star hotel Burj Al Arab but don’t want to pay for a room, you can try their afternoon tea.
